What Is neurolens®?
There are some patients who suffer from misalignment in their vision. If you suffer from chronic daily headaches or neck pain, we will perform a test utilizing a specialized instrument to determine if you have any misalignment in your vision. When your vision is misaligned, your eyes work harder to focus.
mple, if you try to look at a sheet of paper, your eyes need to be focused together on that sheet of paper to see single clear vision. If your eyes focus too far past or too far in front of the piece of paper, this overstimulates the trigeminal nerve.
The trigeminal nerve is responsible for sensation in the face and motor functions. New and ongoing research indicates that,
“patients with chronic headache…shared a common trait: a misalignment in their synchronization of peripheral and central visual tracking systems. Investigators have termed this condition—with its related symptoms—visually induced trigeminal dysphoria.”

What makes neurolens® different?
Standard eyeglasses primarily treat vision clarity. However, neurolenses® add a contoured prism to your eyeglass prescription that corrects the misalignment in your eyes and enables you to have both improved clarity of vision and eye strain relief.
According to research conducted by eyeBrain Medical®,
“Contoured prism has been shown in studies1,2 to relieve the headaches, neck/shoulder pain and eyestrain that many people experience when using digital devices, reading or doing detail work.”
What is Digital Eye Strain?
Digital eye strain, also known as Computer Vision Syndrome, is a condition caused by the daily chronic use of digital devices.
In today’s technological dependent society, the average American spends 7+ hours per day using a digital device and many spend much more than that.
Digital eye strain often includes the following symptoms.
- Stiffness in Neck/Shoulders
- Chronic Daily Headaches
- Tired Eyes
- Dry Eyes
- Light Sensitivity
- Dizziness
- Blurred Vision
- Shoulder Pain
A survey conducted for the Vision Council, a trade group for vision care products and services, found that,
“almost 70% of U.S. adults say they have experienced some of the symptoms of digital eye strain. About 60% of respondents say they spend at least six hours looking at screens daily.”
Patients experiencing symptoms of digital eye strain, may experience significant relief of those symptoms with the use of neurolens®.

How Often Do I Have To Wear My neurolens®?
To receive maximum relief from your neurolens®, it is recommended you wear you neurolens® during all waking hours. If you are unable to do this, you must wear neurolens® while performing near duties such as reading, computer use, and other digital device use.
How Quickly Can I Expect Symptom Relief With neurolens®?
You should begin experiencing relief of symptoms within 3-7 days of wearing neurolens®. Some patients may take as long as 2 weeks before experiencing symptom relief with neurolens®.
Can I still wear my contact lenses with neurolens®?
Yes, neurolens® may be worn over your contacts if you choose to only have the prism put into your neurolens®. neurolens® are not currently available as a contact lens.
I have headaches, but I don’t need prescription eyewear. Can neurolens® still help me?
Yes. Because neurolens® treats the symptoms caused by a misalignment in vision and not your acuity, they may be still provide you relief from chronic headaches, neck pain, and eye strain.
